Special Training for Vrindavan Teachers: Empowering Educators to Support Dyslexic Learners

In a groundbreaking initiative, Vrindavan Playschool recently organized a specialized training program for its teachers, focusing on effectively supporting children with dyslexia. The training was conducted by Mr. Jai Pratap Chenna, a renowned expert in the field of neurodiversity and learning disabilities.

AYI Neuro Divergence: A Three-Pronged Approach

Mr. Chenna introduced the AYI Neuro Divergence framework, which takes a holistic approach to educating children with learning disabilities. Here are the three key components:

  1. Understanding Neurodiversity: Educators explored the diverse ways in which children’s brains process information. By recognizing that dyslexia is not a deficit but a unique way of thinking, teachers can create inclusive learning environments.

  2. Adaptive Teaching Strategies: Mr. Chenna emphasized evidence-based practices for dyslexic learners. These strategies include explicit and direct instruction, multisensory approaches, and personalized learning plans. Teachers learned how to tailor their teaching methods to meet individual needs.

  3. Collaboration and Support: The training highlighted the importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, and specialists. By working together, educators can create a strong support system for dyslexic students. Mr. Chenna encouraged open communication and regular feedback.

Challenges Addressed

During the interactive sessions, teachers shared their experiences and challenges. Some common issues included insufficient time, unwelcoming attitudes, and lack of support. Many teachers expressed a desire for more training specifically related to dyslexia.

Transforming Education

Mrs. Jaya Lakshmi G, Principal of Vrindavan Playschool, expressed her enthusiasm for the training program. “Our teachers are our greatest assets,” she said. “Equipping them with the knowledge and tools to support all learners, including those with dyslexia, is essential. We believe that every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn and thrive.”

Future Steps

Vrindavan Playschool plans to integrate the AYI Neuro Divergence principles into its curriculum. Regular workshops and ongoing professional development will ensure that teachers stay informed and confident in their ability to create an inclusive classroom environment.

As we move forward, Vrindavan Playschool remains committed to nurturing every child’s potential, regardless of their learning differences. Together, we can build a brighter future for all our students.
